How the score works

Every candidate gets a single NameChai score from 0 to 100. It blends two real signals so a name that's available everywhere but forgettable doesn't outrank a sharp name with a free .com. The weighting:

Domain availability55 pts
The share of the active TLD columns where the name is actually available, times 55. A name available on every shown TLD earns the full 55; one available on half earns ~27.5. This is a real signal — checked against the registrar, not estimated.
Name quality45 pts
A deterministic 0–100 read of the label itself — its length, pronounceability, cleanliness (no hyphens/digits), and syllable count — scaled to 45 points. The same name always scores the same.

A name that's available on none of the active TLDs scores 0 and shows as a greyed-out, "dead" row — there's nothing to register.

The number inside each TLD cell

Each available cell shows a per-TLD score from 11 to 94: the name's quality score adjusted by how desirable that extension is. .com carries the most weight; tech-leaning TLDs like .ai, .io, and .dev rank high, and novelty extensions weigh less. A taken cell shows nothing.

Clash & social columns

The Clash column flags when a name looks like it overlaps with a brand people already know. It’s a fast, beta read from our naming model — a heads-up, not a deep trademark search. The social-handle columns are live checks for X, GitHub, and YouTube, probed against public profile pages; Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook can’t be checked reliably, so they show “–”. Neither column feeds the NameChai score; every number that counts toward it is a real, reproducible signal. Verify a name’s brand and handles yourself before relying on them.
